THE DEFINITION OF AMERICAN STANDARD BUTTERFLY VALVE

1. What is the American standard butterfly valve? The technical requirements, connection type and size, material, pressure - temperature grade, inspection and testing of the butterfly valve is in line with US standards, it is named American standard butterfly valve.

Applicable pressure level and pound level of American standard butterfly valve :

The pressure-temperature rating should be in accordance with the pressure-temperature ratings specified in the appropriate material in ASME B16.34 for both standard and special grades. For valves with special soft or special sealed materials, the temperature and pressure conditions should be identified on the nameplate.

The thickness of valve body , valve cover and the thickness of valve cover’s neck. In API600 11th Edition (2001) , it not only stipulate the thickness of body and cover, but also the minimum thickness of the American Standard butterfly valve cover’s neck.

Structure length :

The structure length of the flanged end valve for CL150；300；600（PN20；50；110）,should comply with ASMEB16.10 is greater than CL600 (PN> 110) .The structure length of the flanged end valve should be the same with the structure length of the butt welding end of the American Standard butterfly valve. The structure of butt welding end of American Standard valve is given in this standard.
